I am fairly new to owning chickens too, I had done a lot of research on mixed breeds and now have in the pen (I got them at a week old) - 2 silkies (Coco and Chanel), Australop (Gertrude) and a leghorn (Daisy). They all seem to get along well.
In the brooder box I have 3 week olds - 2 aracanas...
50! And all named! I would run out of names. Love it!

I have finally moved into new awesome home on 1/2 acre...and last weekend I finally picked my little bubbas (day olds). My partner as set up the most awesome brooder box and the chook pen/run is looking like the Taj Mahal :)

It was my birthday two days ago and my partner bought me a chookfeeder. LOL! He's friends are like 'you got her what??'
I loved it - it was the best present ever.
