After assembling the joists, I leveled with blocks & bricks. It's built over the rock foundation of an old horse stable that I tore down. Joists & flooring are treated. It's all good.

Thinking of moving to Oregon in a few years. Who knows :)

There is pretty good cross flow. I'll look into an exhaust system or vent (near the roof peak) this spring before I add more birds.

I have a couple of these pretty silver & gold hens. Multi-generational mixes of several breeds. About 1/4 blue Andalusian, 1/4 buff Orpington, misc Welsummer, Sumatra, Americauna, & others I can't remember right now.

Thanks, guys. I've had a terrible time trying to convince my friend that the "breeder" of these is selling birds (&eggs) as Jersey Giants that clearly aren't. Oh, well...

I'm guessing he has a little Americauna/EE blood. The eggs were all the same size & color (medium/light brown). The other chicks all look like JGs....

These were hatched (by me) for a friend. Supposed to be Jersey Giants. The "breeder" who she bought the eggs from has given my friend several pieces of very wrong information. I question the striped chick to be a JG. At least not a pure one. "Breeder" told her that Blue JGs are often striped...
