Amelia eats her own eggs soon after she lays them. I can't get her to stop but it seems to be just her own eggs so I leave it alone.
Betty has a poopy, bald butt-bottom of the pecking order it seems. but I gave her a bath today and she seems to be doing good for now. She liked bath time!
I'm still here and so are my six beauties.
Amelia made a full recovery from her foot issue, though it did take quite a while.
It's winter now and the hens are doing pretty well with the cold. I do not add supplemental heat and they seem ok with that. It was 4 this morning and yesterday...

So, little update, she's still having...
I think her toenail sloughed off.... I think the red is just the quick. Look how small it is...
Anyways, since no one has responded I'm just going to pretend I know what I'm doing.

My legborn is about 5 months old. She had just started laying (double yolks i might add) and then suddenly she was limping 5 days ago.
The other hens are not picking on her at all. She's eating and drinking but she isnt as active, she's not laying, and when she stands she holds her hurt foot up...
Your coop sounds great!! Sounds like you thought of everything and didnt a good job building. Everything but bear proof is awesome. I mean are OUR houses even bear proof? Lol
