They got every treat I have! Lol Inwas trying to coerce some littles to rejoin the flock after a mini escape attempt! That was cucumber, corn on the cob, some treat medley with oats, mealworms, raisins and peanuts and also some boss! Lol they had a buffet!
Well today I did my first supervised visitation of chicks with existing flock and after a rocky few min of the rooster telling them to stay in their pen and me telling the rooster to leave them alone we had a good time of everyone ignoring one another before I decided I was ready to be done...
I can certainly understand Blooie, I am freezing all winter...just can never get warm no matter what I do or how many layers I wear.

I'm in southwest MI, our low temps at night are abt 65-70 degrees daytime temps in the high 80's low 90's.
They are cooped in a barn and the barn stays cooler during the day and warmer at night. I don't have an exact temp though I am always comfortable in there lol but I don't have feathers!
Ok, my newest chicks are 17 days old, getting feathered very well, I have the heating pad on the lowest setting and when I go out for final head count and lock up they are usually sleeping in the very front of their cave mostly out of it. Do you think they still need heat? I'm in no rush, but...
Mine don't get bread often and I usually only put it in the coop so they get it instead of the dogs, lol
My dogs and chickens coexist really well so far except they eat a lot of the same food!
So, my new babies are brooding in the coop with no ability to leave their brooder, but today I saw them acting like they wanted to get out to interact with the bigger chicks. Any suggestions on when I should make them a hole to use to go in and out of their safe zone?
