Well i have still air. It ffluctuate between 99 and 102. Usually 102. But since the humidity has been up the temp is down to about 100. Must keep it cooler i guess
I have 1 that was supposed to hatch yesterday, but looked a little small when i put it in lockdown. So im assuming if it does hatch, it might take a couple days extra.
Im wondering if maybe my thermostat is off? Ive had it set to 102... so im just not sure. I will be getting a 3rd thermometer...
My baby died... i left it until just a little bit ago. And it hadnt made any progress pipping or even moving in the egg
I candled very well. And did the float test just to make sure. No movement at all. So i carefully opend the shell at the air sac, only to see a malpositioned baby. Feet up...
NOTHING yet. Man im getting impatient!
Anyone know how long this usualy goes on until it atleast internally pips?
I know i probably shouldn't be, but its worrying me!
I jist realised! I know why thisnegg is late to hatch! The hen was sitting on it for the first 7 days. Snakes kept stealing her eggs every nightm and this was the only one left! And i didnt want it to get eaten too. So i took it! But thats probably why! The hen being up and down, and then...
Update! Nothing much. I cut a hole perfectly in my bator so i can put the flash light through then cover again with tape!
The air cell has grown alot since this morning. Id say maybe 1.5 cm. Maybe even 2. And the air cell is mish shappen and i can see shadows like its trying to push on the...
Okay! Good news i think! I shined the ligjt through a hole in the incubator to candle without opening the lid or anything to see whats going on. It looks like its trying to internally pip. I cant see a beak or anything. But i see tiny flutters against the shell about a quarter inch into the air...
Okay. The i guess i will see how ots doing tomorrow, if nothing i may start thinking of helping.
I figured if it was ready to hatch, it would HAVE to internally pip or it would have doed by now without air right? If nothing happens today i will candle tomorrow and see if i can see anything of...
Absolutely nothing... i did more videos of peeping chicks. And it is barely moving. So little im worried it just my imagination.
What makes it end tragically? Is itnthe helping or hitting a vein?
Im just wondering because if i need to do it, i dont want to kill the baby
There has been no progress. No internal pip. And its day 23. Im getting very worried.
Should i put a small pip hole in the aic cell for it?
Its my only baby andni just dont want itnto die :(
Ugh! Day 22 and nothing! I checked for internal pips. Not yet. Im starting to get worried! I know some chicks just take longer... but i feel like SOMETHING should happen by now. Temps have been stable, humidity is about 70.
I really want this baby to hatch! And i dont want it to die before pipping.
