One of my ladies laid a fairy egg two months ago. It contained a yolk and a very thick, gelatinous white.

Yup she looks exactly like my BR hen. The rooster was more of a grey and white whereas my hen was black and white. She is beautiful.

If that is the Barred Rock chick in the pics then I'd say it looks like a hen. I got two BRs as chicks and the hen was much darker in color than the rooster.

Thank you, we tried very hard to help her get better and had great hope that she would. It was a terrible tragedy to go check on her and find her like that when she had been so lively just two hours earlier.
