What is the age and gender of this silkie

Silkies are hard to sex, but I look for spurs and their combs. But I also have some silkie pullets with huge combs, so it's really hard to tell. The only thing that's seemed to work 100% of the time, is just waiting until their between 4-6 months when they'll start crowing. Then it will be a...

    UNKNOWN CHICKEN BREED

We received 5 chicks that are about 2 weeks old. I made a post when my family and I first got them in attempt to find out their breed. Now that they are a little bit older, we are noticing that one looks different from the others. We believe that all 5 are a porcelain belgian bearded d'uccle and...

    Help identifying bantam chick

I completely agree! We bought ours from tractor supply yesterday, and the sales associate wouldn't let us touch or hold any of the chicks while we were picking them out. It was ridiculous because they were just labeled as "assorted bantams" AND they required us to get them in sets of 6! Stupid.

BRAND NEW CHICKS! Can you help identify these Bantams?

Too young to identify the type of bird?? That seems a bit silly...

    Show off your baby chicks!

Hello! My family and I just bought 5 bantam chicks, but do not know the type of chickens they are. They are very young (probably only a few days, if that), but it would be nice to know what to identify them as. We bought them them thinking they were white bearded silkies, but made a huge mistake...

    Uhh....what is this???

Those are both bantams of some sort. It would be easy to narrow down the options if you posted another photo of their feet. Not very many bantams have feathered legs. I'm guessing the top silver one is a Self Blue Old English Game and the bottom black i'm 100% sure is a black cochin chick. Hope...

Those do look quite a bit like my birds, but mine aren't tinted blue. I will definitely keep that breed in mind! Thanks for your suggestion!
