Can I still incubate my duck eggs….

Thanks. That’s what I was worried about. I’m swimming in eggs right now, so I could spare a few to a gamble. Still need just a few more before I start. Thanks again.

Can I still incubate my duck eggs….

My chickens have started laying again, so I’ve been gathering eggs. I have been saving my duck eggs to incubate once I can fill the thing. I was washing the chicken eggs (very dirty) to find that I had blue duck eggs from my new duck hens! I’d really love to hatch the blue ones…. Is it too...

Is it possible she accepts a chick?

Thank you! I forgot about that! I have a chicken-safe mirror, too.

Is it possible she accepts a chick?

Standard for sure, but not giants like brahmas or jerseys. I love Wyandotte a lot, but also would like a bearded breed. Plus Wyandotte can be bossy, so demure needs are prone to be bullied.

Is it possible she accepts a chick?

That’s what I’m trying so far, but the started pullet is out of my financial ability. I will try to keep her more company until I figure this out for her. I’m just a hot mess right now... thank you again.

    Greetings from Tampa, Fl

Thanks, I’ll keep looking. I may place her if I don’t find what I’m looking for. I know they are social, which is why I got a pair. I just can’t have more than two.

Is it possible she accepts a chick?

She isn’t broody, but very noticeably lonely and her demeanor is very deflated. I’m also considering placing her and starting over later on.... as I don’t feel like I deserve her after failing to protect them. But that thought breaks my heart, too.

    Greetings from Tampa, Fl

Hi there. I’m in Tampa, Florida and have had my two silver laced Wyandotte hens, Grace and Dutchess, since May of last year after wanting chickens for 32 years. Unfortunately I lost Grace three days ago to an animal attack. She was the sweet favorite of course. I love having them and love the...

Is it possible she accepts a chick?

Hi there. I have a Wyandotte hen that just lost her sister to a predator, and is now alone. She is just over a year and has not gone broody once yet. If I got a single chick, is it possible that she will accept the chick out of instinct and loneliness? I really don’t have the means or energy...
