:hit:hit:hitI've lost all but one egg. I am trying a new incubator and I believe the problem was that I had my humidity too high. One left and it is going strong. :fl
We finished this first one and the run. The chickens like it. It provides some shade and a very large living area. I will take pictures of the inside. We are going to paint it when the weather gets a little better.
This is a pretty good selection from our chickens. The large green ones are from an Easter Egger we bought at our local farm store. The smaller green eggs are also from an Easter Egger from the same group of chicks as the first. The light brown and tan eggs are from our bantam cochins.
Started with 9. Now down to 7. From my own flock: 1 was infertile and the second ended up with a blood ring at day 5. Still have my 6 from meyer hatchery and 1 from my bantam cochins. First picture is from day 2 and the second is day 7.
I am so excited I found this! I have some eggs coming today and I will be setting them tomorrow. Just in Time!:D
I will be setting 3 Australorps, 3 Barred rocks and possibly a couple of bantam cochin mixes.
Chicks having fun together. Can you spot our little eye pecker. We ended up with 1 Lavender Orpington, 1 Welsummer, 1 Cochin mix (from our own flock), 1 Cream legbar, 1 Easter Egger (He is the one that pecks), and 1 speckled sussex (she had splayed legs that we were able to fix)
Absolutely adorable. Keeping the eggs in the container could be part of the issue because it doesn't allow for the moisture to go in through all of the egg shell. Good job on the assist! We had one that we had to help last time be cause it got all turned around.
Yes!! We had our Welsummer named Sunny hatch last night. Our Easter Egger (Fluffy) hatched early this morning and our Lavender Orpington (Annie) hatched this evening. We have 2 more, a speckled sussex and a cream legbar that look like they are well on their way. My last hatch didn't have so...
