First egg from my first chickens by 'Little Dot' the Dominique at ~22 weeks. It's a very light brown (slightly washed out by flash) and weighs 29 grams.

I appreciate the quick responses. Of course the day this showed up, a post on the local chicken group list said someone on the north side of Austin has fowl pox in their flock. So, I worried.

There are also online 'freecycle' groups around the country. I'm on the one here in Austin and there is tons of activity. People that hate to see things thrown out that others can use as well as people that need them post on a site - sorta like craigslist but everything must be free.

That's about the space I have. Your best bet is to go ahead and contact the rescue folks (NASRN - National Anatolian Shepherd Rescue) through the website. They are happy to help figure out if it is a good fit.

They do well in large space, but fine in medium. I'd hate for someone who would be a great match to be turned off by their size. I have less than 1/2 acre and only part of that fenced - they are not showing any signs of lack of exercise or space.
