thanks for the advice everyone, he seems much better today, running around like a nutcase lol I guess all that time in the water has helped him!

incubate at 37.5 degrees C with 55% humidity and at the last three days drop temp a degree and up the humidity to 75%, turn the eggs 3 times a day if turning by hand and stop turning in the last three days. These are just the conditions I use but everyone has different opinions.

My Call drake has hurt his leg, he holds it up for most of the time except when he is trying to walk he doesnt even use it for swimming, i have examined it and there is nothing visibly wrong but there is heat coming from the joint in his leg, is there anything I can do or is this a job for the vet?

Hi Gary, from what you have described I think that the facilities you have will be fine for a few ducks, however is there no way you could deter the cats? after all the ducks will be getting in and out of the pool, and a cat would have any number of opportunities, mine lay sleeping under a tree...

ive checked both legs today as he is holding his foot up most of the time and swimming using just one leg, there is heat coming from the joint in his leg, should I take him to the vet tomorrow or is this something I can treat at home?

love your ducklings Im at the same stage as you, i have 2 call ducklings and they are exactly the same size so no give-aways there. I think in about a week they will begin to either quack or not quack IYKWIM lol so its just a waiting game not long to go now!

I dont think there are any laws regarding that I buy eggs all the time and I have never heard mention of a licence, btw im in the north so technically part of the UK
