    Excess roosters, should i butcher?

Well I just processed one old hen two roosters and two ducks. It was so easy! I have them in a cooler with brine soaking now. I just made a traffic cone into a kill cone and cut their throats. Didn't have to worry about swinging hard enough or God forbid missing and hitting them somewhere else...

    Excess roosters, should i butcher?

I have one that's already crowing. He started crowing ridiculously early though  Thanks for the info so far. I was thinking once they are butchered, cleaned and brined for a few days I would season them, vaccum seal and freeze. How do yall normally store them?

    Excess roosters, should i butcher?

I have a bunch of young roosters, about 2 months maybe. They are barnyard mix, the father is either a orpington jersey giant mix or a naked neck. I've tried selling them but it's hard to get rid of a rooster around here. It seems ridiculous to just dispatch them all for no reason so I figured...

Duckling still absorbing yolk after 3 days

I have her separated from the other ducklings with food and water now. It seems like the umbilical cord is starting to dry up. Parts of it are turning white. Can take clear pics after work.

Duckling still absorbing yolk after 3 days

I hatched some ducklings a few days ago and one hatched still absorbing the yolk. I figured it would finish and the umbilical cord would fall off so I left her in the incubator. Well that was 3 days ago and I'm thinking I'm going to have to do something here soon. It seems she pulled the yolk...

    Is this chick bow legged?

That definitely looks like what’s going on here, although she is not a broiler. We bought them when they were just a day or two old from TS. As long as she can live a happy healthy life she deserves a chance even if she needs some assistance. Right now I’m not so sure. All she does is sit in...

    Is this chick bow legged?

Wife bought four golden lace wyandottes at tractor supply and one seems to be lazier than the rest. Seems she can move and walk just fine and is still eating and drinking, but just doesn’t want to move. Is there anything we can do? What’s the best course of action here? The chick in question is...

Hen attacked chick, vent damaged. Will she pull through?

At what point should I consider culling her? Or should I just give her a few days and see if she survives?

Hen attacked chick, vent damaged. Will she pull through?

I have a photo but you can’t see anything. When I get home I can take a video. I have not seen her poop. I don’t know if that’s because she physically can’t, or if the hen had been bullying her out of food. I will give her sugar water and see if she improves.

Hen attacked chick, vent damaged. Will she pull through?

I moved my chicks (5-6wk)to the coop with the big chickens, yesterday my wife came home and saw that one of our chicks had been attacked by a hen. She pecked her comb bloody, and on her wing a bit but the most concerning part is her vent. It appears to be damaged, but seems that everything is...
