Shell-less egg and soft shell egg by 2 different hens? Calcium?

I have seen all of them eating the oyster shell and their own shell I dry and crunch up for them. I ran out because I take it. I just gave the last one to the first hen that laid a soft shell egg. They get bsl and a little scratch now and then and lots of greens since I can't free range.

Shell-less egg and soft shell egg by 2 different hens? Calcium?

It was just a naked egg, white and yolk plus a bit of liquid. I was out there with her when she did it. All the other hens came running when she began to squat and I thought they were pecking at her vent. I picked her up and they were eating the egg. I do have oyster shell in a separate...

The other spent a long time on the nest but no egg and just laid a egg no shell. They are on flock raiser with oyster shell available and I feed...

Pullets open mouth breathing can't stand

Not at the moment. 2 hours away from me and booked. Not sure if I can afford it either. I did get some water with nutridrench and electrolytes into her via syringe. She is much more perky and sitting up but still can't stand. Breathing fast but not frantically or open mouthed.

Pullets open mouth breathing can't stand

I had electrolytes in the water during the hot days last week. She is wheezing. The Temps are only in the 70s here right now so I don't think it's the heat. They have a shaded covered run (large) and a well ventilated coop. Fresh water at all times are on flock raiser, with oats, bsl, and...

Hey all! My DH and I are recently retired and just got 8 chicks! 2 barred rock, 2 blue Sapphire, 2 silver laced wyandotte, and 2 novogen. I am an avid gardener, crazy fabric lady (quilter) and happy grandma to 1. I found this community when I was looking for info on chick grit and really enjoyed...
