    Help!? Is it too cold?

See?! I knew I could count on this community. Thank you! I took them out about an hour ago to their coop and they seem to be doing fine. For now they're in one of those prefab coops, so they've got plenty of room and a nice hut to get out of the wind. I'll still never understand why I google...

    Help!? Is it too cold?

Good morning! My chicks are inside this morning (in brooder box) as it is only about 45 degrees out this morning but warming up quickly. They are 7 weeks old today and are fully feathered. Is it too cold for them to go out to their coop? They're screaming at me. 😂 I fear what is to become of me...

    Hatching mixed breeds

Wow! I am in awe of the colorings on your hens! How beautiful! I had a Brahma and she had the best temperament. Sadly I lost her to what I believe was e.coli. but she was beautiful and so sweet. Depending on how many hens I end up with from this hatch, I may add a few Brahma in the mix to get...

    Hatching mixed breeds

I'm fairly new to raising chickens. I started in November of '21. I'm not familiar with this breed but I will have to look them up! Im wanting to add more colors to my flock. How is their egg laying and would they make a good duel breed?

    Hatching mixed breeds

Wow!! It sounds like you have a beautifully colored flock! I started small with only 9 eggs for my first incubation. Of course the goal is to add more layers to my flock and replace my roo as he is overly aggressive towards my famjam. My hens were given to me by a friend and were already laying...

    Hatching mixed breeds

Good morning! First time incubating momma here and it's technically day 18 still on my incubator (after much deliberation, i decided on the dry hatch method). We went into lockdown yesterday and already have 2 chicks! It was determined earlier in a thread I posted that my roo is a mutt, but a...

    Whats my roo?

Wow! Your boys are very handsome! Thank you for showing them off, and I think you might be right. I'd love to hatch some chicks from him with my mix of girls and see what I could get.

    Whats my roo?

I believe it was fate. He was the kick start to my dreams of having backyard chickens.

    Whats my roo?

Right! Just another trait that didn't match up. He's a great rooster to my girls and they love him back. Maybe after mating season is over, he'll calm down a little and I can work with him on his aggression. He's not nice BUT he is a rooster after all.

    Whats my roo?

Thank you very much! Ill tell him you said so. :D I thought he might have been. I thought blue wyandotte for a while but his sickles are incredibly long, the pics don't do them justice. And I took that extra pic out, thanks for telling me! Ha!

    Whats my roo?

Hi! I'm hoping someone can help finally lay my confusion to rest. I'll give a small back story on my roo. Cogburn adopted us back in late October of '21. We own a 2 acre corner lot that backs up to 40+ acres of hunting land in Alabama. We would hear him crow throughout the day in the woods and...
