I hope my girl is the same! There's some mixed reviews here so I'm just really hoping she's a girl and will continue to call her a girl. I love my boys but I cannot have another rooster lol
If she's a crowing/dominant pullet, will she lay? I ask because they're obviously reaching point of lay soon so should I watch for eggs to determine sex?
So I have a crowing hen?! I do have a rooster so s(he) does hear him crow. Could (s)he be copying? I REALLY hope rice is a girl because i love her soooo much.
This is Rice. Rice is about 16 weeks old and this morning I watched "her" crow. Rice is an Easter egger and was purchased from a local farm where I've gotten most of my hens from.
I've also added my Oliver egger (grey bird) who seems to have many curved tail feathers.
Thoughts?
Hi! I ordered two Easter eggers and one speckled Sussex.
The one I was told is the speckled Sussex appears to have cheeks like my Easter eggers do. And the Easter's don't.
Can you please confirm who is who.
Thank you!
I have an olive egger who has feathered feet and an Easter egger with feathered feet and neither get picked on at all! In regards to them getting dirty, my chickens are in a fully enclosed run most of the time and I don't let them out when it's raining.
so this girl has cheeks and I thought she was an ee and contacted the farm asking if they might've messed up my order and given me 2 speckled Sussex and 1 ee because only one has cheeks but they said this one is a speckled Sussex.
And the other two look like the chipmunk one!
Definitely keep me updated regarding the silkies! Pictures too!! I was never interested in them at all, but so many people say they're super friendly so I'm starting to be a little more interested!
I did it!! I picked her up a few days ago. I got one speckled Sussex and two Easter eggers. She's still a week old chick but she's so energetic and curious🥰
