I got my EEers from Mt Healthy in Ohio and while they're only 5 weeks old, their feather colors are VASTLY different for the 3 I have. You can order basically any number/variety of chicks, which is why I went with them because I wanted a variety of adult birds. I ordered 3 distinct breeds and...

and I presently have 6 birds but my city only allows 4 (I ordered 4 and they sent 6...) so 2 are going to be rehomed with a friend after they're a bit bigger. I also have a covered run approx 120sqft and am building...
First I want to ask that no one bad mouth me for not building a custom coop. I'm a first time chicken owner and live in the city. I have no major power tools and no construction experience so I bought a prefab kit. Yes its appropriately sized for my birds and while its from a feed store, it...
My chicks are so spicy, too. Very rambunctious and although mine are a tad younger, I thought they'd be a little calmer lol I was wrong lol they flap all over the place, love scratching and digging everything, tear apart paper towels, run all around. Just so much fun <3 Love them.
My chicks are 4 weeks old tomorrow and growing SO fast! The EEers are especially fast growing because, I suppose, who really knows what mix they are. 2 are very similar, one totally different. Here are those 3 :-) Plus my barred rock lady (hopefully). The EEer with my BR is honestly the only...
I gave them some sand adn holy smokes they LOVE it. I'm in Wisc so its a bit wet to get dirt from outside yet but will add that as soon as I can. Messy birds!!! They LOVE flinging the sand everywhere loll
Thank you -- this is super helpful. Its been a week and change now and they have super changed ! Teh ones I thought were Welsummer are for sure EEers and my speckled sussex is very obvious. White feet/legs and a white chest. The one I now think is Welsummer has yellow feet/legs and is slow...
I ordered 4 chicks and 6 came. I think I am IDing everyone correctly now that they are a whopping 3 weeks old already! They grow so fast!! And poop so much. Lol
Barred rock is the black and white way too close lol. Hoping for a lady bird there.
Then on my knee is EEer I think. And on the...
This is where I ordered from and they all arrived safely and are doing great! All survived shipping and are nearly 3 weeks old ! <3 Now the wait to see if they are all ladies... I'm biting my nails in anticipation ! lol I ordered all pullets but who knows lol
I have 6 chicks, about 2 weeks and change old, and growing so fast! They graduated from a brooder storage tote to an extra large wire dog crate as they were a bit cramped in the tote. One has started to do a dust bath in the pine shavings and boy is it cute. Question is: should I be giving...
Aw! I have (I think) 2 SS and one is very outgoing and one is still a bit more cautious. My barred rock is a wild girl tho and perches sometimes on TOP of my head! omg lol I can't wait to see how their personalities and feather patterns develop <3
I'll second that. Mine are just barely 2 weeks old and are jumping and flying everywhere. Needed a lid after first week for sure. Actually I just ended up graduating them to an extra large wire dog crate as the tote I had them in got cramped very fast with their epic growth spurts.
I have the same question so glad you asked! I also have speckled sussex that are just a few days behind yours and can't wait to see how they grow up <3
The one on the right and the one at the feeder are basically twins when they are next to each other except one has sllliiiiightly longer tail feathers now. I'll be happy no matter what but am dying to know who is who lol and dyyying to know what the EErs will look like :D
Hi All - I ordered 4 chicks (Easter Egger, Barred Rock, Welsummer and Speckled Sussex) and the hatchery sent me 6 with 2 WS and 2 SS. Fingers crossed for all hens but we'll see on that in a few more weeks. It doesn't super matter but wondering if you can help me ID which chicks are which. The...
