Thanks! I didn’t know the color deepens when they get closer to laying age. None of my others have gotten that red and they’re older.

Hi! I’m fairly certain they’re a pullet based on feather pattern but over the last week they’ve started developing a much larger comb and wattles. She’s about 17 weeks old. We got them at Wilco so I don’t know the hatchery. We’ve named her Chip 🙂

I had some strawberries in the freezer from last year and a browning banana. It’s hit 80 here a couple times so I blended them up, froze them into ice cubes and gave them to my girls to help cool off. They seemed to love them.

Thank you for looking! I’m going to dump the food out and try making the whole bigger later today. Kind of defeats the point of buying these because they have a slide to close the hole but they need to be able to eat.

I have a feeling the crumble feed just isn’t a good fit for this kind of feeder. I couldn’t find anything on the reviews

I have them facing downward. Maybe they should be upwards though.

I use the scratch and peck and really like it. It’s made locally so I can get it at my local mom & pop pet store rather than a big box store. Which is important for me. Plus they have coupons attached to the bags. The only downside is I don’t think they have a non layer feed. If that’s a concern.

Mine looked the same way before she got more feathers. She’s a week older and she looked kinda sad like that but then feathers started coming in.
