Sapphire Olive Egger Gender

Hey all!!

These are 5 week old Sapphire Olive Eggers. They are supposed to be pullets. Lilly I'm pretty positive is a pullet. White Fang hopefully is, too! I've read they are autosexed...is that accurate? Google can be so misleading some times!

Is it possible for sapphire olive egger pullets to have the white dot, or is that an absolute identifier for cockerels?

Guys this is my 12 week old sapphire Olive egger from Hoovers. Why are her waddles so red at 12 weeks? I see no pointy saddles but this is very suspect to me. Opinions PLEASE! Took some with flash and some without because often flash makes them look redder.

My dark one did the same thing and it threw me off. My lighter one hasn’t changed like this. Someone said that as they approach egg laying age their combs darken.

Yes, the combs and face of pullets do darken and turn red when they are at point of lay. My girl here is only 12 weeks though, so that is what is strange. I did find on some other pages people saying that this breed tends to lay earlier ; at around 15 to 16 weeks. So I’m not sure , that seems really soon to me, but maybe that is what’s going on. she is roughly,,,, yeah 12 weeks or 13 may be the most.
