I have an EE chick a little over 2 months old that was fine yesterday morning but by late evening was huddled in the corner of their fenced in yard. Her feathers are all fluffed out and she seems to list to the left when she tries to move. Her stools are normal range and she pecks at her food...
I will post her pic here in a bit. Up to now, I have just been getting small eggs from my pullets..This one got caught under a plastic tub late last night and I found her this morning. Guess being stuck all night must have scared the egg makings out of her..lol
Left egg is what we normally get, don't even ask about the one on the right.....lol These are actually blue eggs from our young EE's. Guess flash did not work.
I could not find a thread for this topic so I started one. I saw an 8 month old golden lace wyandotte yesterday thats neck was twisted in a U shape over her shoulders. Is there something nutritionally missing that caused this or just something happening while in the nest like an injury.
Supposed to be a storm coming in Sunday night or Monday, might just move them from house to pen during the day for another week until the temps settle...Im worse than a mother hen, husband says cut the apron strings and let them be..lol
Do you think it's ok to move the chicks outside now. I'm here in Southern Illinois. I bought them back in early February and they are fully feathered and they definately don't want to stay in their crates anymore. Between the poop and dust, I know I'm ready for them to move.

I made oatmeal facial soap for the ladies on my list one year and they loved them..I also sold a lot of them wrapped in cellophane at the flea markets. A plus is, while you are microwaving the soap, your kitchen smells so good.
Supplies:
1 large bar of soap, preferably a mild cleanser such as...
How funny to run across this post..I was wondering about chicken leggings and if they would keep them on. I suppose maybe I would have to put them on after they had gone to roost. Let us know how yours turns out...
I haven't made any wines this year, but I made a batch of dandelion wine last year...Talk about back breaking work, but the wine was worth every bit of it. I need to learn how to get my great nieces and nephews to pick them for me..
Found some free yarn the other day and started crocheting a little afghan for my great niece the other day. Thought I would do a small one, but I kept adding another round to the squares. Making granny squares. I am up to 48 squares and still going. I don't think it will be small... It...
My first eggs were layed around July of this year. Had a tragedy and lost all but two of my flock after that. Now I have 2 hens left, one hatched in March and the other early April. The March hen has started laying one a day now except Wednesdays and Sundays...DSO says she is a religious...
