    rooster problems

    I am thinking about getting a rooster but i hear that they often attack the other chickens and you alot. So can i keep him in a seperate coop while the chickens are out playing all day and then put him in with them when i want some more chicks? Or any ideas on the subject at all.

    Time to get more Chickens

    Well all my chickens died last month but it is now time to start thinking about getting a new batch. So far i am thinking about Austrolorps, Susex and i need a 3rd breed. The breed needs to be quite, nice, winter hardy, and lay eggs for a long time. Any ideas would be great.

    My dad's friend has chickens and he had a rooster that everyone hated. I have herd that all chickens are not like that. I was wonder what are upsides and downsides to getting a rooster. Do they protect the flock or not? anything else would be great.
