    MAGPIES Helping themselves!!??

Hubby said a magpie LEFT the chicken house as he approached last night - walked down the hen's ramp and flew away. Egg production was down again, I blamed it on the weather. I JUST sold my large, protective Java roosters. ARGH It's a horse shed converted to hen house, with dirt floor and...

Not sure is this is an appropriate place to post this......At Dr's orders, I am also selling out my cockatiel hobby and am a ACS member. Currently have the most awesome trio of breeding cockatiels (not banded). They consistently raise 4-6 babies per clutch, and raise 3-4 clutches a year. They...

RE-LISTED!! - TX-7 Incubator with NEW turner, turning racks

Selling this incubator, in order to buy a cabinet. The turner was new last year, and I don't know how old the incubator is. The TX-7 model is just foolproof. Fill the humidity bottle when empty and that's it. I've even hatched cockatiel eggs in it. I get 100% hatches with it consistently...

    Spraddles -causes

I have had 3 cases of spraddles, in my java chicks, this year, out of 25 chicks so far. Two of the three were brooder hatched, and the third was with a broody, but brought inside to the brooder immediately upon hatching. They are hatched on a waffle mat, and are "spraddled" the minute they are...

Broody Silkie - gonna give it a shot!

Thing is, she keeps moving smack dab to the middle of the coop (it's a large old horse loafing shed, so pretty spacious) and will not stay in the corner, in her nest box I provided. I have some pricey eggs coming, and some of my own Javas that I really don't want to experiment with, but she is...
