Chickens for 10-20 years or more? Pull up a rockin' chair and lay some wisdom on us!

Yesterday a noon I noticed that the chickens were all in their pen after I'd let them out a couple hours before I thought to my self "that's odd" they are usually out in the yard running around. Then I heard a loud chirping sound so I went out to investigate thinking that maybe one of the...

Back from dumpster diving for pumpkins! LOL! I got some for the chickens after I spotted 'em on my walk; it was past dark so I came back for the stroller as it was a big one that I spotted & I did not want to lug it home. Grabbed a bag and snagged two of 'em so the chickens will be happy with...

I'm not an OT but someone asked for those that order from hatcheries which ones do you use? The feed stored and breeders in our area have made a few suggestions and I found a hatchery I'd not heard of in byc forums forget which one now. I followed the link. I live in the West Eastern...

The last three times I've been to the store they have been out of layer feed, no grower / developer flock mgt. or what ever it's called and just had scratch. So I called the other feed stores in the area. Contacted my cousin on the other side of the country he used to grow chickens commercially...

I love this thread! Thanks every one for sharing! I'm reading and sipping my coffee learning some thing each day and I got through the posts! When I was a kid my dad build a giant feeder out of plywood that held two #50 sacks of chicken feed it looked like a giant rabbit feeder.
