I was making pasta, cracking eggs into a well in a mound of flour. The side of the well gave out and an egg (sans shell) started to run out. Not knowing what else to do, I leaned against the counter top and the raw egg slid into my front pocket. That was about 25 years ago, and my son still...
BC (Before Chickens) I went out for breakfast and asked for their egg shells for my compost pile. I brought a small plastic paint bucket that they happily filled to the brim for me!! They seem to enjoy such requests; maybe they're happy it's not going to waste. I'll have to remember to ask for kale.
I was actually late for work this morning because I found a HUGE praying mantis on the screen which I just *had* to catch and give to the girls. Of course, I then had to stick around and watch them play keep-away with it. Too cool.
Oh, well. It's only a job and my sole means of support. First...
