I call it her "body beanie" :p I hope it works, she's a bit old for wing wrapping to work...but I'm crossing my fingers. It's not too bad, just a slight droop, but obviously I want her to be 100% normal.
YAY! Which colors did you decide on, again? I can't wait to see those photos!
As for Wobs, well...her name's Wobbles for a reason. Balance has never been her strong suit. But she manages fine, she doesn't even seem to mind that much, surprisingly.
I agree, $20 for a show-quality duck is lowballing it. I've seen them go as high as $100 for a genuine, excellent show quality duck, but the average is between $40-60 per bird.
Speaking of, here's my show-quality-but-kept-as-a-pet duck Wobbles. She's wrapped due to a mild case of slipped...
White is my favorite color (Not at ALL biased, hehe!) but I'm also very partial to snowy calls. The females are just so pretty with all their speckles. <3
Yes, she's alone but she is a house duck and has constant human interaction. She just turned 2 weeks and yet she's still so tiny...only about as big as a mallard duckling at 1 week. That's normal for her breed since she's show-quality. I hope to one day either show her or make her a good therapy...
When do Calls start becoming more independent? Wobbles turned 2 weeks yesterday. I don't expect the "alarm peeps" to stop anytime soon but I would like a ballpark estimate of when I can look forward to going to the bathroom without feeling guilty or hearing her cry for mama!
