    Wow, next time anyone teases me about my small quantity, I will direct them here! Haha! 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 lizards, 2 roosters, 14 hens, and now 4 ducks! Would have more if we had land!!!

    My cayuga just laid the smallest egg I have ever seen. Is it normal for a duck to lay giant eggs, and then a tiny one?

    ok, I left eggs in the coop for a week now. guess she isn't gonna go broody so I think I will remove them tomorrow! no ducklings yet.

    I believe you have to wait. I don't recall when I noticed mine were drakes, but I knew by low vocals and the flip in tail. I want to say they were at least a couple to a few months old. Now I have a female and she quacks! Definitely a vocal difference. Try YouTube for sounds. That's what I did.

    Awwww, I want Cayuga babies, but my lady doesn't seem to be too broody. She hasn't set on the eggs. Maybe if my chickens go broody again I will set some under them!

    Mrs has laid her first egg for us and it's blue!!! I would love to see if she goes broody. How many days should I leave that egg in her nest for?? So excited, first ever duck egg!

    Do Cayuga's often go broody? We just got our first female and she is laying. We have 1 female and 1 drake. Would like another female but have to wait.
