I have light, light partridge hatch from my birds. They are all blue partridge; initially I thought porcelain as well, but genetically I don't think that is possible. After getting her adult feathers in, it came to me - since breeding blue x blue can give you splash, that must be what it is...
When breeding with blue, you will get splash. They look almost blue-cream/porcelain, but are actually splash partridge. Not sure if there is another term for it. If you breed two blue partridges, you will get 1/2 blue, 1/4 black (regular partridge), 1/4 splash.
If you don't find one, I am giving a young (16 week old) cockerel away. He is a dark blue partridge. His father is was from CJ Silkies. He is a big guy with good foot feathering. I'm in Vermont but would be willing to ship. I am NPIP certified but not AI tested.
How do you distinguish a splash from a splash partridge? All the chicks are so light I was really confused! They are all lighter than the Lavender Ameraucana from the same hatch
Help me figure out what color these chicks are! First full hatch from my birds.

About 2/3 of the chicks are born with stripes so I assume they will be partridge? But I also have had 3/7 hatch out without markings...?!
I can't remember reading this anywhere, but because of the BBS gene, could two blue partridge's produce a splash partridge? Does someone have a picture of a splash partridge chick?
