As the APA judge stated before, after the dubbing is finished, when my fowl are set down they usually crow, shuffle, act just as chickeny as they did before. I would imagine they feel it, just like people feel dental work, ear piercing, tatoos, etc., etc....Like we have concluded...

Why would you think they don't? When you touch or poke their wattles or comb, they seem to feel *that*.
Pat
i meant for it to go to prairechicken.

hahahaha!!!!
that was funny.
i cant wait until the dubbing is done though. they will look great =]
and i have a question pc. can the chickens feel there wattles/comb being taken off
I DID NOT INTEND FOR THIS TO GET "UNCIVIL"
i just asked 2 simple questions.
i am terribly sorry if i offended anyone.
but i honestly didnt know that dubbing was a testy subject.
I veiw dubbing as a health precaution and a way to make a rooster look better.
I personally dont see anything wrong...
i can understand how people veiw it as cruel, i have oeg birds and they are a fighting breed and they will fight if you keep them together and they will try to tear off the comb and wattles and kill the other bird while trying so taking off the comb and wattle is almost nessecary [sp] to keep...
forstbite can occur with or with good "husbantry" and i can understand how many of you think this is wrong but if a chickens health is put at rish you would do it and many may have there veiws on showing dubbed chickens whether its wrong or not. I dont understand personally what the probelm is...
I DIDNT HAVE TO DO IT.
we first cut off a top to see if i had the stomach for it
and way too much blood flowed and it took forever to get it to stop and he said i didnt have to do it . so him and one of his buddies are doing it
i;ve seen that website and the chickens do look better after being dubbed. if you go to the cackle hatchery, in the oeg section you'll see how there dubbed because they are show chickens
lol thank you mp.
and we have to take ff there comb. becasue the frostbite is extremly bad. and we want to show them and its a qualifacation for a chicken to be dubbed. i dont want to do it. but if it wasnt for the frostbite i wouldnt do it
yuppers we are dubbing our chickens today and we read alot on it we just need to know 2 things:
will they fight right afterwards?
and this is off topic
but is it illegal in the state of maryland to dub chickens?
