Last night when the girls went up to their roosting bar I found a smooshed egg next to the feeder with a thin membrane instead of a shell. They usually chow down just before they go up to roost so it probably slipped out of someone at the feeder. It's weird because all my other shells are...
Thank you! :-) I had no idea brown eggs would be so exciting. But I can't wait until my Welsummers and Easter Eggers start laying. They're only six weeks old. Suspense!
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. I got my first egg a couple of weeks ago, and I still get so excited I keep texting egg pics to my family but they don't reply.
