Some splash are so diluted all you see is white, but looks to have blue leakage around the head and hocks. White laced reds are just white. No blue in their matings.. splash is just a classification from blue.
I go out and feed them after work ( 7am) and sit on a bucket and watch them eat and scratch around. Nothing better in my opinion. Then watching a fat, waddling, Wyandotte frolicking through the grass.. I love the chocolates too. They are really growing on me..
I would say wyandotte, but that's because they are my favorite breed. But cochins aka pekins. Are a good breed too. They would do well together... d'Arc let I have no experience with.
As in good for backyard layers? They are good foragers, docile, even the roos tend to be friendly. Depends how you raise them. But they are the prettiest yard ornaments. Lol
