so are you saying Josh that if i had this "special formula" and gave it to my cuckoo marans, they might lay a totally dark egg like they should be doing. right now, I am giving them laying pellets, and table scraps and bread along with it in the winter for extra warmth to them.

Ok..thanks all of you! This is wonderful information. I ordered from McMurrays a couple of years ago some cuckoo marans for the dark eggs. and I was VERY disappointed..none of the eggs turned out dark. unless you call a very light colored egg dark. LOL...so youi are right on the hatcheries...
