From what I have seen and read they will be well below Ameraucana level still. Most are lacking something that makes them Ameraucanas.

I don't know all the differences..... and you will hear that black is black is black but there are some genes under there you can't see....... Blues should have lacing, plus the silver vs gold thing. They say the genes are different and i will take the old timers word for it.

Not sure any of that is correct. Silver would EXPRESS and you would see it on Blue and Black Birds, maybe even Splash. Cockerels can have either one copy or 2 and pullets can only have 1. It is a sex link trait like barring. The best blues are based on SILVER. That does not mean they...

I have not hear that about silver being purple.... I have not seen that myself. Purple usually means mahogany is present but I have not confirmed that. I have seen birds with both green and purple sheen. Green is good purple is not. Not with my Ams yet but I am starting to run 2 roos with 6...

What makes them FULL BLOODED Ameraucanas?????? You are correct Lavenders according to the APA are EE or Project Birds, the difference is they breed true. EE will not breed true. When you start mixing birds to get EE you don't know what color chicks you will get. For example That black...

They are both EE.... so they do not meet the SOP for the breed sorry.

Hum..... yellow legs... those are tricky to breed out. At what point would you test for yellow legs? What generation would it be a deal breaker? I think this one is over my head but sounds fun.... gives me some idea for some other breeds.

Please read the definition of EE. If it does not meet the standard it is an EE. White patches EE.... lack of beard and muffs EE..... and the list goes on and on.... http://www.ameraucana.org/faq.html#TWO

If you look at that lavender cockerel you just posted.... do you really see pointed hackle and saddle feathers like that on her? Her hackles are wide and round and they are that way at the base of her tail.

If you cross them with solid blue and black those would need to be EE. They would not breed true after that cross. Now the Blue Wheaten and the Blue Wheaten Roo will breed true.
