I think I get just as confused as anyone else when it comes to being able to identify Silver Pied from Loud Pied. First question, Is it true that a Loud Pied will have some 'bright' color and the Silver Pied has only 'muted' color? Or can a Silver Pied also have some bright spots of color...

I MUST print off @AugeredIn post above! Outstanding post and thank you Phil! I have to admit I have a LOT of questions to ask now, but I have to go back and re-read that post a couple of more times.

The results are in from last years breeding and they are varied indeed. This cock I call Pied Piper, was paired with an IB Pied I suspect is carrying BS, an IBSP, Cameo SP, and a Cameo Pied WE hens. They produced; White IB IB Dark Pied IB Pied (cocks) IBSP (cock and hens) Cameo (cock) Cameo...

Does that mean that he is a Single Factor WE? Or something less?

I finally got some pics of him displaying. I see two WE feathers, one at nine o'clock and one just right of center. And then there are all these white dots in these feathers at the top of the train. How many eyes with white in them does it take to qualify as WE?

Ok, here is a thought from right field. Could the vanishing white be an immature Pied thing like the vanishing light color on a BS? We know from last years pictures that there were at least six, by my count, eyes with white in them and quite a bit of white splattering. So far this year I see...

Mindy, the day I started this post I had seen him displaying and I saw NONE. I have gone through a lot of doubting myself until I found these two pics from last May to confirm that this bird really did have some white on his train. My thought now brings me to conclude that he was three last...

Garden Peas, could you help me out with Jacks reply?

Rats! And I was sure that those white centers in the eyes meant white eye. So this is just Pied markings?

I think we will be near 70* for the next three days. I may even get the new run done! Just shot another coyote a few minutes ago! I guess a dog is in my future....

    White Eyes

The last time I have seen him display was the day I posted this thread. I would love to tell you I will run out and snap one tomorrow, maybe I will, but today NOONE was displaying in the 50 mph gusts we were having. It should be nice for the next three days so we will get one soon. He was...

It took a bit, but we finally found a couple on DWs I-Pad. His train is pretty busted up but you can see on the left side there is at least six white eyes and a lot of white splotches, none of which are present now. The pairings plan for him is (was?); IB Pied (maybe we, unknown)...

Uh, humor right? Not sure what you are trying to say. I am beginning to think that maybe he didn't have those white eyes I thought he did. Brad has never seen one go backward either.

    Minimum of four, maybe older.

    White Eyes

Yes. Zero White Eyes on the train. If it happens that way sometimes I am ok, if it is unheard of I am mistaken and need to change my pairings for him. I bought him three hens because he had WE, now I don't see any.

I have an IB Pied who I am sure that it had White Eyes last year, not a lot, bus a dozen or more. His train is about 2/3 grown and I don't see any this year. Is it possible to reverse and not get any a year after having some?
