    Back from the coop--at least one of the silkie eggs under the broody is chirping. Anyone know how long I will need to leave them under her so she will have had enough "mother" experience that she might stop being broody? I really do not have a safe set up away from the other birds to have her...

    I have pips in 3 or 4 of the eggs, and I hear peeping/chirping, too. I am going out to the chicken coop to see if how the 2 silkie eggs I put under the broody are doing....

    I also locked down this morning. I also gave 2 little silkie eggs from the incubator to one of my Buff Orpington hens who has been relentlessly broody for a month. I hope she does not change her mind, and gets off the nest! So, I have 27 eggs ready to hatch in the incubator!!

    I'm with you about the weather down in Virginia--WAY TOO HOT and HUMID for me. There ae some beautiful places in Virginia, but I just can't stand the weather! I lived there for 12 years befoe heading back up north...

    I am late to this thread, but I am expecting my EE eggs, and banty mix eggs to hatch on March 3rd or 4th. I crammed 33 eggs into my brinsea eco 20. As far I can tell, about 30 are developing. Three were obviously not fertile, so I tossed those after about one week. I am wondering how this is...
