Mrs. Mucket :
Dividing Hovabator?
Does anyone divide the incubator in any way to keep track of which breed of chicks hatch? I sorted my eggs out but didn't realize the new chicks would play soccer and roll the eggs all around. For this next hatch I'm wondering about putting some kind of plastic...

On on day 10 with 60 eggs (I did some stacking!) on my 2nd hatch of the...
I threw out 9 BBS Bantam AM's and 3 Lavender AMs. And also 5 BBS Orps, so that leaves me with: 10 BBS AM's and 15 Lavender AM's and 9 BBS Orps and 6 of my Buff Orp eggs. Plus 12 Olive Eggers, and 6 LF Am's in my Brinsea.
I still haven't taken any pictures, but I just now got the temp to 102...instead of 110 or 120!!
I will be setting the eggs in a bit if the 'temp holds.

Great! I'll be waiting for those pictures!
I finished it..but I need a 40 W. bulb...everyother bulb I have goes to 120!!! So until I get the temp right I can't set my eggies. I also had trouble w/ the humidity..I had to lower it. At the moment I have a 13 W. bulb, and it looks...
I just threw together a quick homemade 'bator. Will take a pic when I get the temp together..it isn't much but I don't care as long as it hatches babies out!! I got 12 OE ( Olive Egger ) eggs from a friend of mine this morning..they're sooooo pretty!!!
I'm having incubator troubles.
My homemade 'bator's plug is bad and stopped working and it somehow threw off the braker and it turned off my Hova-Bator, when I found it, it was down to almost 70! So I had to rush my Hova-bator inside and put it back inside and I just now got it back up to...
Mrs. Mucket :
Very exciting to hear about everyone's eggs and pips and chicks!!
Genesis 1588 users: Does anyone have a simple way to see the water level in the center trough, especially with a turner in place? When lifting the turner to check the water, I sometimes dislodge a turner bar or an...

I'm rooting for you!!
I wanted to hatch some of my button eggs out so badly..but I'm sticking to chickens for the next few months.......perhaps.
If I start finding guinea eggs then most likely I'll incubate those.

I think you will be just fine. Eggs are pretty tough ~ especially in those first few days.
Thank you..you don't know what it means to be told they'll be okay!!!
I've had a very rough night. The power went off for around 20 minutes before I could get my HB plugged into the geneator. Will they be okay? It was down to 89..then went back up to 100-101
Then when the power came back on I plugged the incubator back in, in my room and then I layed down to get...
I plugged in my 1588 w/ my auto turners. Right now it's up to 98 - 99...it's not going any higher...waiting....waiting...waiting..
I have eggs coming in the morning ( I hope ) and wanted to have the 'bator already fired up. I may have a ton of eggs coming...just haven't heard back from the...
