I noticed that some of your ducks have crests. Was that intentional? You do know that the crest is a skull deformity and to never breed a crested to a crested, right? My first ducks were cresteds and I didn't know about the skull deformity when I got them.

Where are you located? Maybe your local farm has 2 females I can purchase.

Where did you get your Cayugas from? I purchased 3 hens and 1 drake from Ideal hatchery, but would like a couple unrelated hens. My flock must be small, but I do want to ensure their health as a breeding flock.

Are Cayuga eggs grey? I have 3 crested ducks who lay white eggs, and 3 Cayuga ducks who just started mating with the Cayuga drake and checking out the nest boxes. I'd like to hatch some Cyuagducklings next year, but I want to be sure that none of the crested eggs hatch. So can anyone tell me...

I have noticed that my Chinese geese are getting decent lift, the Africans don't yet, lol.I am keeping a close eye on them. If I see one get more than 2 feet off the ground, I will clip their wings. If my birds escape my yard they will become either dog food because of the strays around here, or...

Yeah, the ducks and geese don't get very high, with the exception of my crested mallard, Ebony. She is so small and light weight she can get up 3 feet and go a good distance. However, she just won't leave her sister ducks. She only takes off if something scares her, she won't even try to fly...

Hopefully never. But if they figure it out I will clip their wings ASAP! But I don't think that will happen. The people pool is in between 3 large buildings which should keep wind help to a minimum.

My 4 Cayuga ducklings are so big and love their kiddie pools! They are also starting to hang around with my crested mallard and 2 crested Pekin females. For now the 4 Cayugas stick together like glue, they won't split up for anything, not even to mingle with the older ducks, lol.

My Cayuga ducklings. They are 5 weeks old and nearly as big as their adotive mom, my crested mallard Ebony.

My geese are babies, 18 weeks old. But I am assuming that once adult they will get territorial and not want the ducks. So making plans ahead of time to keep everyone happy and safe. My month old Cayuga ducks are happy running flock.

I was thinking of ordering from 1 of those hatcheries if I can't find a breeder with good stock. Since I only want a few, I'd rather find a private breeder, maybe of show stock, to get some females from. But I have time to keep looking, if all else fails I can order some hatching eggs and hatch...

They look lovely! Can I ask which Hatchery you got them from? I got my 4 Cayugas from Ideal and I am looking to get a few more females from a different source for breeding. Yours look so healthy.

Thank you. Hard to believe but the Siberian with the bicolored eyes, the Rott, and the Belgian were all rescues. So we're all the cats (only 2 in the pics cause they others aren't as in love with the dogs, lol). Kind of sad that people would throw away such great dogs. The Siberian is the most...
