2/14 chicken eggs looked like this with no air cell and is that a blood ring near the bottom of the shadow? i'm so new at this, i have no idea.

i'm not sure what happened here. Is this a saddle? The eggs came from a local breeder less than 10 minutes away from me.

Finally got some pictures. This is day 22. Set on april 6, due to go into the hatcher on Sunday with expected hatch date of May 4. What's the lowest humidity that you would do in the hatcher?

good idea with those silica packets, i'm sure i have some of those. i can get something call dri-z-air. people use it in their rv's around here in the winter to keep them from moulding. since i took the water out of the trays, the humidity has been anywhere from 30-45% it's a bit drier today...

Thanks, i've got one of the hygrometers set up to test it! :) Now that i know how important the humidity level and air sac size is, i'll be checking them a lot more often! also working thru all of the info in this post, i had cross posted to a couple of other threads to try to get more...

i took the water out of the tray. one hygrometer is reading 34% and the other one is saying 36% so pretty close to each other. the air sacs are the same today as they were yesterday.

thanks for all the advice. i think i'll get rid of the water for now. if the other eggs get too dry too fast, i'll correct for that later, i guess. i have another hygrometer, so i'll throw them both into the incubator and see how they read against each other. the ambient humidity for our area...

Hi, I'm trying to figure out what to do with my duck eggs. I've had 2 failed batches of duck eggs, the last batch were peeping a few days ago and didn't pip, didn't hatch. So incredibly heartbreaking and sad, especially after listening to them peeping. I think i had my humidity way too high...
