air sac is way too small need advice please!!

i think it went well. 12/14 runners, 10/14 malines (a couple of those quit early though). the half saddled egg didn't hatch. now that it's a bit warmer and dryer out, i've been needing to watch the humidity more to make sure it doesn't go too low. next time i buy an incubator, i'm going to...

air sac is way too small need advice please!!

these are different views of the two chicken eggs that looked different. top one looks bloodier now, and the bottom one the air cell looks like it has fluid leaked into it? it doesn't look hollow like the other eggs. nothing smells, i'm going to remove the one that's bloodier now, and leave the...

air sac is way too small need advice please!!

These are more runner duck eggs, i set 13 on April 19, so this is at day 9. Not sure why i took a picture of the one egg that was undeveloped. there are 12 that look normal, with veins and all that. i'm a lot happier with the size of the air sac in these ones. humidity has been around 25-30 with...

air sac is way too small need advice please!!

good idea with those silica packets, i'm sure i have some of those. i can get something call dri-z-air. people use it in their rv's around here in the winter to keep them from moulding. since i took the water out of the trays, the humidity has been anywhere from 30-45% it's a bit drier today...

Thanks, i've got one of the hygrometers set up to test it! :) Now that i know how important the humidity level and air sac size is, i'll be checking them a lot more often! also working thru all of the info in this post, i had cross posted to a couple of other threads to try to get more...

air sac is way too small need advice please!!

thanks for all the advice. i think i'll get rid of the water for now. if the other eggs get too dry too fast, i'll correct for that later, i guess. i have another hygrometer, so i'll throw them both into the incubator and see how they read against each other. the ambient humidity for our area...

air sac is way too small need advice please!!

Hi, I'm trying to figure out what to do with my duck eggs. I've had 2 failed batches of duck eggs, the last batch were peeping a few days ago and didn't pip, didn't hatch. So incredibly heartbreaking and sad, especially after listening to them peeping. I think i had my humidity way too high...
