they are minute tape worms. I find them in normal poops, usually coming out. they are like little balls, usually3-4+ mm and they have trunks.

you can worm your chickens without testing them. withdrawal time for eggs shouldn't be so long (usually 1-3 days). it should be mentioned on the package. as I live on the other side of the planet I will not suggest you what warmer to use.

when my flock had IB 2 of my hens layed a couple of soft shells like in your pic. I gave them calcium supplement and after a while they got better.
