It was 3 months old on the 20th of July and I would say its pretty much feathered now. I would say in a month or maybe a month and a half it just started feathering one day and feathered more each day. He came from a person that was pretty much mass hatching like hatcheries do and did not care...
I had an Ameraucana do this also but it caught up and feathered out eventually. Still had never seen it except from hatchery birds but he wasn't from a hatchery.
You are correct..I got some Silver Laced Wyandottes from a hatchery years ago and half had single comb and half had rose comb. Some had other issues as well and I learned never to get anything I was planning to breed from a hatchery or feed store. If you are planning to breed something it is...
My 2 new GLW from the same breeder as the one I posted before. Hoping they are just as perfect and with them both running to the front, I worry they may both be roosters. I just hope one is blue laced.
I have one SL Wyandotte that has been laying a few weeks and as of today the other has started laying. The first one layed a little egg the first week and then it was double in size one day. Today I got a starter egg from the other one. Out of all my breeds they are the first to start laying and...
Now I am thinking hen. Took these pics last night and it still has no comb and the only issue is those tail feathers. My SLW were the same way and both are hens. If it was a roo I seriously doubt it would have that much lacing at this point.
My GLW, the lacing is good but not even as you can see. I thought it was a rooster at first but not so sure now. Wanted to see what any of you may think? Thanks, Eric
