    I have a question on the above picture. Why does the bottom board (the sill?) have those little marks all over it? The other boards are smooth, but those have what look like little finger nail imprints.

    What is it called when you do that notch thing with the boards? Two boards next to each other have pieces cut out and then a post is slid into that part?

    This may be a dumb question, but how do you stack the wood to dry? Wouldn't the separator piece stick to the wet paint of the bottom layer?
