Well...this cat has gotten a chick out of an incubator, almost killed it...its reasonably cold...shes 4 days old (As of today) Im going to search....it seems so strange that shes disappeared without a trace. Its either i find her dead or alive, but i hate when a chick goes missing and i dont...
Im a bit sad this morning....actually scratch that, very sad.
I did my usual check the brooder last night....and Pocket was not in there. No where....not under her toys, she was not in sight. We turned the place upside down to find her, she was no where. Shes gone.

Its been almost 3 days since Pocket has hatched, i have offered her hard boiled yolk (Finley scrambled) and crushed cheerios. Not interested in them..she has an empty crop and is making some yawning motions on several occasions
Oh no!! Thats just terrible! Who would do such a thing? Im so sorry Loosing all your birds, and that big incubator, plus all your hard work...just terrible.

I never knew that! Alot of my hatches get high temps...maybe thats why im getting all boys...expect this hatch they were exposed to quite alot of cold...50/50 is good, hopefully i get that next time..i have a better incubator on the way.. Thanks,i hope i get better hatch rates with the new...
Well out of all the chicks that went into lockdown, only one little lone chick hatched, heartbreaking but im happy at the same time, at least i got something from all those weeks of waiting..

Lost the one that i thought had an internal pip....somehow it was peeping without breaking through the air sack....and i lost another egg that seemingly couldn't break through the airsack but i could still hear faint peeping.....and the Quail egg died also...heartbroken.

Love all these fuzzy babys, as usual! My chicken babys dont hatch for a bit, but my Quail bubs should be here soon..i wonder will this HAL still have some activity in a week or so?
