It was such a great time today! So happy to have met everyone, and now I must get some spitz...haubens? Awesome Mohawk chickens, lol! Ma loved it and our new buddy is enjoying his time out of the box and in the yard. Cannot wait for the next meet up!!!

I am bringing a cooler with water and ice...looks like it's gonna be a warm one! And for the raffle, the cookies are a no go, have put together a bottle of sangria, cups and coaster set.

Oh, yes!!!! Didn't even think about that, I have TONS of egg cartons that everyone has been saving up and giving to me. I'll bring a whole stack. Just cover up the brands/dates with stickers, they're like new.

the comb isn't a huge priority for me, I don't think I'll get into selective breeding for a long time. What I was gonna use was a small dog transporter, bought it for moving my Grandpa's dog in a few weeks, should be more than big enough for a 9 week old.

I'll take him! I did a bunch of reading up on the breed, they sound pretty cool. And I am sure that he will get used to me....I sit with the girls after work with a beer every day, they have taken to flying up onto my lap, I don't pick them up or anything. Have no problem dominace training...

For me, there is never a bad time/season for Mac n' cheese but if it's gonna be that warm, forget it. And that cockerel, everyone likes him so far. Will he be coming? Would probably be easier to work with integrating a younger bird for me.

The egg color doesn't matter to me so much but I am sure my parents would love that! Pops wasn't too keen on chickens at first and says he still isn't....but I've seen him make cluck-cluck noises at them. They'll win him over.

Soooo, we've been eyeballing photos of roosters here, everyone likes the look of Welsummers, I think something looking along those general colors is what I'm hunting for. :)

I'd bring a pop up but Dad only has 1 and he's not much for sharing, lol! I'll have some golf umbrellas and a few chairs. Hopefully the weather will shift yet again.

Yes, any type of ballpark headcount would be fantastic, I was planning on 4 dozen muffins but can bump that up to 6 without too much difficulty as long as I know by Thursday....shredding the carrots is what takes me forever, might experiment with the food processor this time. Haven't made this...

speaking of which, time to herd the ladies up for the night. They are doing so well in their 15'x15' temp run, can't wait to get them in the new one...10'x34'. May I also say that I am totally stoked to finally hang out with chicken people? My folks and friends all think I've gone round the bend.
