I am sorry to hear that! I am trying to get the Partridge penes going this year, but they keep pecking the comb of the rooster. They even went after the comb with blue kote on it. I will keep trying.....

Partridge penedesenca have gray to slate leg color. White can happen but not yellow. Look into barnvelder chickens.

I took a couple of pictures of my Partridge Penedenca pullets today. They are starting to lay eggs!

Where I live, it rarely gets below 32 all year long. From what I have read about it, combs do not get frostbite unless it gets much colder or there is too much moisture in the coop. Do not leave water in the coop and make sure there is good ventilation.
