I have read through many of the suggestions there and found a lot of great ideas. I just wasn't sure about a few things due to the fact we get all four seasons and drastic weather extremes. I wanted to ask local folks for more "correct for our area" information. Thanks again everyone!
That's what I was thinking... but I wasn't sure. This is our first flock, and we're learning as we go. I always question where people live when I read their suggestions.
Thanks!
Another questions for you all. Do you use heat lamps in the winter? I've read in a lot of places that even in cold weather you should not insulate or heat your coop. The birds will naturally take care of themselves. Does this apply to us in Nebraska? or are these people from a warmer...
I have a question for my fellow Nebraskans. Since my coop is not done yet, I have time to change the plans. Do you guys have food and water inside the coop or only outside? I was originally planning on only having them outside the coop in the covered run.
Thoughts?
We're in Bellevue,NE. I'm not sure of the amounts... But it keeps coming down hard. I'm happy for the rain, I just wish I had my coop done. I don't like watching the raw wood get soaked. No door. No shingles. :-(
