    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

My little flock, one rooster and 4 pullets. Came from a local breeder who started with hatchery stock. Hatched about June 1, no eggs yet. Not show quality, but nice to look at and funny personalities. Unexpected how this still saddens me, but I had another rooster, with more black, who was...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

MIne are 26 weeks, so I guess I have a wait. I hope they make up for the extra feed on the front end by laying well into later life.

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Let's play pullet or too, again. I have the others figured out, but this one I question. He/she has a prominent comb and wattles, although not as prominent as his/her brother. He/she has the rounded tail and saddle feathers of a pullet. About 12 weeks old. Thanks!

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Thought I would post pictures of my chicks. I have 6. They are supposedly 3 weeks old, but I think they seem like they could be a little older. They still have their down on their necks, but their body feathers are starting to fill in, and there is lacing showing on some. There seem to be 3...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

I get the different reds that range from orange-like to mahogany. It is the white lacing called blue that I am trying to understand. "Our Roost" explained that the roots of the feather show blue. The feather itself is white laced, but called blue, correct?

Love your BLRW pullet. I am a novice, so my comments don't mean much. I've decided that I will start my first flock with BLRWs next Spring. Those birds pictured on Jerry Foley's site are beautiful, as is yours. Would love to have my birds look like his.
