Or, if the link doesn't work, do a search for zeolite at amazon.co.uk
Sweet PDZ is a brand name. Other brand is Stall Dry, or Dry Stall.
The mineral is zeolite, you might try searching in the UK at feed stores for that.
It would be expensive to ship.
Just scatter the wood pellets not too thick, they expand and fall apart with moisture (in this case, wet chicken poops).
You will have to experiment on how much or how few wood pellets work for you. :-)
"freezing weather with PDZ
I asked this question a few times and never got a super good answer.
Well, now it is freezing, and now I have a complete answer in case anyone else out there had the same question,
If you clean the PDZ every day, or have only a little poop, then it all works fine...
I *do* use some DE on the poop boards but it is a small amount.
I use it in the hopes it will control mites and other little nastys.
The sweet pdz is the primary stuff I use on the boards to help with scooping poop and eliminating odors.
I did try sand, and then mix of sand & sweet pdz, really...
DE = diatomacious earth, and is not the same thing as sweet pdz which is from zeolite.
I'm not sure if you would want to use DE in the same way as people (including myself) use pdz.
DE is microscopically fine and a little goes a long way, it's used more as a dusting layer, or in a dust bath...
I use the granular form and have no experience with the powered form of sweet pdz. The granular form works just fine for me.
The lip on the chickens poop board is not as deep as the OP, so I have a thinner layer on it, and replenish the sweet pdz as needed.
