I would really like to see a shot of your lavender ameraucanas...about 3 months. I really want to compare head shots of my two and yours! I'm just not sure yet about sex...and I am afraid that my 11 year old will be so sad if we have to give a roo away. Trying to do it earlier rather than later!

My lavender Ameraucana are 8 weeks. It is pretty obvious on them already. Post a pic of yours and the good people here should be able to tell you what you have. If they are reddening up, have 3 rows of peas and possibly even growing wattles (some of mine are already) most likely you have a roo.

Sure I posted these on another thread but I would love your opinion too:)

I'm sorry. I have an 11 week old EE named Peaches whose comb looks just like yours and I recently noticed that Peaches is a he, not a she. My other EEs have a much thinner, paler comb. It's pretty easy to spot cockerels in Easter Eggers once they're about 8 weeks old.

Oh I'm so attached to these birds:(. I'll never do straight run again. We started with 5 from hatch and knew at 4 weeks 2 were Roos so we gave them away.
