At the end of the season for Tractor Supply chicks, my partner got an assortment of reduced price chicks. He didn't pay attention to the breeds. There was one that started to grow into a neat almost speckled gray color and another was reddish. They were different than the other chicks also because they had longer head/neck feathers. Unfortunately a raccoon ended up getting most of this batch. I really want to replace the gray one and I know it's a long shot but if anyone recognizes one of these chicks as one that would grow into what I described, please let me know. Thanks! I've searched Ameracuana, sapphire gems, and others but it is hard to find what they look like as they are maturing. They were about 2 months old when they got attacked.

If you're referring to the very light one in the front (my apologies, i'm a bit color-blind and can't tell the color well), it looks to have puffy cheeks, which are pretty common in easter eggers, or ameraucanas :)

Thanks for the input. Ameracuana does make sense because when our favorite was still alive I tried Google pics search and that was the first breed of chicken it recognized it as. I read your response the other day and searched for pics of those two breeds and they are definitely really close to what I remember. As a matter of fact we went yesterday and picked up some new chicks for the season to replace the lost ones and Ameracuana was the first breed I picked out. We also got Sapphire Gems and Silver laced wyandottes because they are gorgeous as well.
