I am in need of two or three more pullets as I have only four currently and one is a dud. I am not getting enough eggs, so I need to make it worth my while to own chickens. I am unable to find anyone in my area who is selling pullets. Do any of you have personal experience using someone online and if so who do you use? Or do you know of a local person who youwould refer me to? I am near Aurora, Illinois. Thanks.

I have used Ideal Poultry and Murray MacMurray. I've had only good experiences with both but I generally use Ideal now. For me the fact that there is no 25 chick limit as well as they allow you to mix species to reach $25 (excluding rare turkeys), plus they run some really nice specials, just ends up, well, ideal for me.

I ordered chicks on multiple occasions from four different hatcheries, Ideal Poultry, Murray McMurray Hatchery, Dunlap Hatchery, and Cackle Hatchery, and have been happy with the birds and service of all four of them. I've never lost more than 1 or 2 chicks in a shipment, and since all four of them have always put 2 or 3 extra in the box I've always gotten what I paid for. These hatcheries have minimum orders, but if you order pullets you can easily sell off the extras you don't need and recoup your money as you will have the order form to prove you ordered pullets. I've done this myself on a number of occasions and never had any trouble selling off the extra pullets.
