almost done with my first coop here, used some scrap for the ramp, wondering if it is too steep? The coop is about 4x8 ish....

I love the coop!

However, I do think the ramp is a little too steep.

I don't think it's too steep. The problem I see is chicks can't use it. That only becomes a problem if you've a cock bird and hen go broody.

I built one like that years ago but had (guessing) nine inch spacing with 2x2's for the steps. My birds used it at 5 weeks of age. Always put them in that grow out coop when weening the brooder from 3.5 to 4.5 weeks of age and it would take a few days of placing them in the coop before they'd use it but the roost/ramp worked just fine with tighter spacing of cross pieces.

This served as my tractor/grow out coop for years. You can see the steepness and spacing of the ramp. Due to having problems with hen brooded chicks I only use a solid board ramp with cleats spaced about every 9 inches now. Chicks can walk up with mom and cleats prevent from sliding down as all my ramps are close to 45 degree.

You can always just put a cinder block under the bottom rung to help reduce the angle. The older chickens will probably never even use the bottom rungs (mine don't...they just jump halfway up the ramp).
