What feeders for meaties

I live in Canada, (ontario) and I ordered them from a local feed store. They just call them "white rocks" or "meat birds / Commercial meat bird". They grow fast, love to eat and are ready for slaughter in 7 weeks. I assume there similar to CX, admittedly these ones did get to fat to fast for my liking they don't like moving that much. When they were around the 5 week range they LOVED to roam around when I let them out and now they won't get out of the tractor.
Everyone I talked to (including the feed store owner) let's them eat 24/7. I did have 4 deaths but that is because it was 40 degrees Celsius and there water got to warm (as in HOT) while I was at work and they couldn't cool down.

Yeah, I was curious about them over eating. They get lazy and don't want to waddle away from the trough :)

I make my feeders. Take a 5 gallon bucket, use a hole saw to drill 2 inch holes all the way around the bottom of the side with a 1 inch gap between each hole, pick up a 2 dollar oil drain pan at Walmart and affix it to the bottom of the bucket with screws or bolts and washers, roll some flashing or tin into a cone and set it inside, fill it with feed and snap a lid on. Total cost: maybe 6 bucks. I've been using the same ones for years.

I use a similar setup for my layers but for 100 birds you are going to need at least several of those to have enough trough space for everyone to eat at the same time which is a necessity or some birds hog all the food

One, is surely not enough for 100 birds. It's just the least expensive feeder I could make. I'd say you need 1 per 15 birds if they are your only feeders. I have 3 in my barn BUT I also have a couple gutter feeders that I sprinkle a bit of feed in for the morning rush. After the rush, the feeder is never crowded.

Thanks for the follow up. I have about 30 birds eating from mine but they are layers not hungry CXs :)

I have been raising the CX in tractors for several years. I use 2 bucket feeders per 75 birds. As was mentioned after the rush there is plenty of room. I have found 12 hrs on & 12 off on the feed tends to help with the overeating. The bucket feeders are easy to handle also.
